Residential Burn and Scar Rehabilitation Centre:
We are working towards opening our residential burn and scar rehabilitation centre in the UK in 2018. More information on this and other new services will follow in the coming months. If you or someone you know has a burn injury, or an injury resulting in a scar, and you have any questions about this service, please contact us.
Hair Transplant Surgery:
The Farjo Hair Institute http://farjo.net/ and The Katie Piper Foundation are working in partnership to provide access to hair transplant surgery for people with permanent hair loss due to burn scarring and who have been refused NHS funding for treatment. We recognise that access to hair transplant surgery within the NHS is limited.
Treatments available include restoration of: hairline / scalp, facial hair, eyebrows & eyelashes, and other hair bearing areas of the body.
Please contact us for further information. Ezinna (Charity Services Manager) can talk to you about the options available. She can also arrange for you to speak to someone who has received hair restoration via the Foundation if you wish.
Hair Replacement Systems:
We are no longer taking on funding for hair replacement systems; however we continue to fund these for those individuals we are already supporting. If you have permanent hair loss due to a burn injury and you would like some guidance on the options available, please contact us.
We are not able to provide scar advice:
If you have contacted us for scar advice in 2017 and you have not heard back, or you are waiting for more information, please feel free to get back in touch as we may have been trying to contact you.
If you have a burn injury you can find information about relevant services at: http://adultburnsupportuk.org/
If you have questions about scars you can find information at:
If you already have a hair replacement system, medical tattooing or makeup/camouflage through The Katie Piper Foundation you will continue to receive these services. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.
If you have any questions about our past peer support services, please feel free to get in touch.
