Thoughts may be turning to spring, but here at The Katie Piper Foundation, we’re still happy to be reminded of snowcapped mountains when we think of what Grace Thorne achieved. She trekked Mount Kilimanjaro as a sponsored challenge back in February. Her efforts won’t be forgotten! Inspired by her good friend Catrin Pugh’s personal challenge of ongoing recovery from severe burns, Grace raised over £5,000. Grace has been by Catrin’s side throughout her journey. Catrin was the first burn survivor to attend The Katie Piper Foundation’s residential burn rehabilitation in its pilot phase. The money raised by Grace will go straight to enabling this special place to open. That will mean many more survivors of burns can receive intensive treatment following their discharge from NHS burn units, where they receive outstanding care.

Thank you Grace, for pushing yourself to the limits to help survivors of burns.
